Soju Mojito Recipe (Easy Soju Cocktail)

Sweet with a sour twist, this Soju Mojito is an easy soju cocktail for any time of year. Plus, you can make it in less than 5 minutes with just 5 common ingredients!

About this recipe

Classic Cocktail with Soju: with just a few minutes and a few ingredients, making soju cocktails is easier than ever; this one is sweet and a bit tangy with a mild minty aftertaste.

Very Batchable: though I made this mojito in a single glass, you could easily grab a few limes and bunch of mint & make a punch bowl’s worth for larger gatherings.

Super Easy to Make: with just five common ingredients and as many minutes, it doesn’t get much more simple than this when it comes to cocktails with soju!

Ingredients

Soju: this clear liquor is known generically as Korean vodka, and is available in numerous brands and formats around the world, but no more varied than where the drink originated – in South Korea.

Granulated Sugar: you can use any granulated sweetener you prefer; I like to opt for allulose when I want a lower-cal beverage.

Fresh Lime Juice: central to a solid soju mojito recipe, using the fresh-squeezed stuff adds that extra balance of flavor that brings everything up a notch.

Mint Leaves: these are ideally spearmint (yierba buena), as it’s the most traditional for a mojito, though you can find fresh mint leaves of whatever varietal you prefer.

Sparkling Water: in the typical version you’d top with club soda, but you can use whatever type of carbonated water you most enjoy.

How to make a soju mojito: step-by-step instructions

Step 1. Grab a cocktail glass, then mash or muddle your mint leaves and sugar until the mint releases its juices.

Step 2. Add the lime juice & 2oz. of soju (1/4 cup or two shots) to your glass, and stir the mixture together.

Step 3. Add ice to the top of the glass, then either measure or just pour your sparkling water until the glass is filled.

Recipe notes & tips

Skip the Muddling: if you can’t find a muddler or other blunt object, or just don’t want the hassle of muddling, you can chop up the mint leaves finely and then stir them well with the sugar and lime juice, before moving to the next step.

No Sparkles, No Problem: even if you can’t get your hands on sparkling water, never fear, because you can use top water or any sweet fizzy drink you’d enjoy.

Using Flavored Soju: if you decide to use a flavored soju rather than plain soju, note that it will make your drink more sweet & flavorful, but it will also decrease the alcohol content by about a third. You’ll probably want to use no sweetener and a plain sparkling water to make up for the extra sweetness. Pineapple or citrus would be my picks, of all the soju flavors.
