Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons matcha powder
  • ¼ cup hot water
  • ½ cup milk dairy or non-dairy
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the matcha powder and hot water until the matcha is fully dissolved and no lumps remain. To save time you can microwave the water to get it very hot, rather than heating water on the stovetop.
  • Add the honey to the matcha mixture and whisk until fully combined and smooth.
  • Fill your glass with ice cubes, then pour your cup of milk into the glass over the ice.
  • Pour the sweet matcha over the milk, then stir gently to combine the matcha with the milk, ensuring it’s well mixed before taking a sip.

Notes

Sift Your Powder: Make sure to sift your matcha powder to avoid any clumps in your drink and ensure a smooth texture.
Silkier Texture: For a frothier texture, you can use a milk frother to froth the milk before adding it to the glass.
Adjust The Sweetness: Add more or less honey according to your taste, or even add a dash of vanilla extract for flavor balance.
Mix it Up: Experiment with different types of milk (almond, oat, soy, etc.) to find your preferred flavor combination.
